Field Services Technician
The primary responsibility of the Field Services Technician is to conduct Customer Installations and telephony and networking maintenance in support of the Network Operations Center. Secondary duties will include network actions/dispatches, and other technical aspects that require remote support as identified by the Field manager.
Job responsibilities:
- Conduct customer installations
- Conduct maintenance actions in support of the Network Operations Center investigating chronic and escalated troubles at the customer premises
- Troubleshoot problems at the Telesphere interface to the customers LAN, PBX and Key Systems to include recommendations for corrective actions
- Meet and facilitate relationships with ILEC field service technicians troubleshooting T-1 circuits and recommend corrective actions for resolution
- Perform Quality Assurance audits of customer installations per established policies and procedures and associated Service Level Agreements. Submit detailed reports outlining QA assessment to include recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies
- Support the Network Installations Group in the design, installation, turn-up and acceptance testing of collocation facilities at the ILEC central offices
- Maintain all associated Installation documentation and submit reports per established guidelines
Job requirements:
- Demonstrated operational knowledge of T-1 circuit installation, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Knowledge and experience in the workings of PBX and Key systems with the ability to configure and troubleshoot to problem resolution
- Minimum of 2-5 years experience in the voice and data services industry preferable in the small business services segment
- Ability to trace, tone and replace cabling
- Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills
- UNIX, CCNA, CCNP, MCSE is a plus
- Some travel required
- The successful candidate should have a comfortable understanding of network protocols, architectures and hardware including DNS, RADIUS, TCP/IP, Cisco routers and other internetworking technologies
